About Us

Our History

Truth-Missionary Baptist Church had its origin in a very strange location. It was in a back alley at Woodside Mill in Greenville, SC! This back alley at the time was used by trash trucks, picking up the garbage from homes in the village.

We had been praying for a while for a building in which to teach new believers the Bible. At first glance, this small 20’x30’ building located on the corner of the back alleyway seemed a strange place to begin our ministry. Nonetheless, it was God’s will that we rent it for the purpose of preaching His Word. And since our start in this alley, God has led us in incredible directions. We were in this small building for just a couple months, when several of the men and women suggested organizing into a church.

On April 13, 1968, we became a bona fide church. Since then, we have moved and grown. Currently, we meet in our beautiful sanctuary on 200 Saluda Dam Road in Greenville, SC. It is here that we feed the flock, win the lost, and delight in worship and fellowship. We are making preparations to celebrate 40 years of Truth this April. As we look back over the forty years here at Truth-Missionary Baptist Church we can see God's hand leading us and protecting us. We rejoice in the great things that God has done for us and we are looking forward to many more years of truth.
